About the Team: TikTok Shop Governance and Experience: TikTok Shop Governance and Experience is a global team responsible for ensuring our marketplace is safe and trustworthy for not only users, but also sellers and creators. We continuously improve user experience through optimizing policies, rules, products and systems. Business Planning: The Business Planning team partners with regional operations, global functions and middle platform teams in achieving GNE targets.
We develop appropriate metrics systems to monitor overall performance, bring in data-based analytics for critical decision making and contribute strategic insights on best practices and innovations to tackle some of the toughest challenges. Planning and Analytics: The Planning and Analytics team sets business targets (incl. budgets), tracks performance and proactively identifies potential issues and risks through developing and iterating metrics systems. Meanwhile, the team also engages with cross functional teams in solving priority challenges by bringing in data-based insights.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring & Performance Tracking: conduct in-depth data analysis to monitor business performance against key metrics and KPIs.
Track progress toward strategic objectives and assess budget utilization. Identify and synthesize insights on business highlights, risks, and performance gaps;
- Strategic Planning & Problem Solving: Perform deep-dive research and benchmarking to validate key assumptions supporting goal setting, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
Support planning processes by providing data-backed recommendations to address critical business challenges;
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Support the (re)definition and iteration of key metrics as the business evolves.
Deliver tailored analyses and insights to enable faster, smarter decision-making and continuous optimization;
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Data Science, Governance operations and strategy members from other regions) to inform strategy and process optimization.
Help teams elevate their strategic thinking and execution to achieve the next level of impact;
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate changes in metrics and analysis insights to cross-functional teams, influence decision-making and actions through clear and candid verbal and written messaging.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in strategy/consulting or 3+ years in business analysis, or data analytics role
- Strong data analysis capability with hands-on experience required, advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., modeling, complex formulas, scenario analysis) is required;
- Solid understanding of common statistical and analytical methodologies;
- Demonstrated structured and logical thinking, with a strong ability to extract key insights from complex data;
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset and the ability to work independently in ambiguous environments;
- Strong learning agility and ability to quickly understand new domains, business models, and governance frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in tech or e-commerce–related projects is a plus;
- Experience in e-commerce governance, user experience governance, trust & safety, or social media governance;
- Experience with R/Python and BI or data visualization tools is a plus.
- Prior experience in consulting and/or strategy-focused roles is strongly preferred
- SQL skills is highly preferable
