Software Engineer (eCommerce System)

Key Responsibilities:

• Own, maintain, and enhance a core eCommerce enablement platform, including an existing financial reconciliation system that matches transactions from major marketplaces (e.g. Shopee, Lazada, Amazon) against internal accounting records and bank statements

• Design, optimise, and extend reconciliation and transaction-matching logic, including:

  • Transaction date, amount, and reference matching

  • SKU- and order-level reconciliation

  • Payment gateway fees, platform adjustments, and commissions

  • Partial payments, refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks

• Work closely with Operations and Finance to support daily and monthly reconciliation workflows, ensuring results are accurate, auditable, and delivered on time

• Build and maintain robust API integrations with eCommerce platforms, payment gateways, and internal systems, and adapt quickly to API, report, or data format changes

• Enhance discrepancy detection and analytics, including:

  • Identification of unmatched or partially matched transactions

  • Variances caused by fees, FX, settlement timing, or platform adjustments

  • Generation of monthly reconciliation summaries, exception reports, and management dashboards

• Develop and improve web-based dashboards and internal tools to:

  • Visualise order, payment, and reconciliation status

  • Surface discrepancies and operational insights clearly to business users

• Participate in the design and development of additional internal eCommerce and operations software, such as order orchestration, reporting, automation tools, or integrations, using modern and scalable architectures

• Document system architecture, data flows, reconciliation logic, and operational procedures, and provide proper handover and ongoing support to internal teams
  

Requirements:

• Diploma or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field

• At least 2 years of backend software development experience

• Strong experience working with APIs, data ingestion pipelines, and CSV/Excel report automation

• Proficient in backend development using Python, React.js, or equivalent technologies

• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as Shopee, Lazada, Amazon Seller Central, or similar marketplaces

• Comfortable working independently, managing timelines, and delivering production-ready solutions

• Strong communication and documentation skills for effective collaboration and handover
