Senior Merchandiser / Merchandising Manager (Cosmetics / Ladies Accessories )

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Merchandiser / Merchandising Manager (Cosmetics / Ladies Accessories) to join our team at our Orchard Central Region location. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in driving our merchandising strategy and maximising sales performance across our cosmetics and ladies accessories categories.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive merchandising strategies that enhance product visibility, optimise inventory management, and deliver exceptional financial results. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including sales, operations, and suppliers to ensure our stores present compelling, well-curated product displays that resonate with our target customers. This position offers significant opportunities to influence retail strategy and lead merchandising initiatives across multiple store locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic merchandising plans for cosmetics and ladies accessories categories to drive sales growth and market share

• Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer insights to identify merchandising opportunities and optimise product assortments

• Manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and product allocation across store locations to maximise sell-through rates and minimise markdowns

• Create engaging and visually appealing in-store displays, window presentations, and promotional signage that attract customers and encourage purchasing

• Collaborate with suppliers and brand partners to secure favourable terms, new product introductions, and promotional support

• Monitor competitor activity and market positioning to ensure our merchandise offering remains competitive and relevant

• Conduct regular store visits to assess merchandising execution, product presentation, and compliance with visual merchandising standards

• Lead and mentor junior merchandising staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure team excellence

• Prepare and present merchandising reports, performance metrics, and recommendations to senior management

• Manage merchandising budgets, promotional calendars, and seasonal campaigns to achieve profitability targets

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising or retail management, with substantial experience in cosmetics and/or ladies accessories categories

• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful merchandising strategies that have driven revenue growth and improved profitability

• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in using merchandising systems, POS data, and retail analytics tools

• Excellent visual merchandising skills with an eye for detail and an understanding of current retail trends and consumer preferences

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment

• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage team members at various levels

• Experience in supplier relationship management and negotiation of commercial terms

• Knowledge of inventory management, stock control systems, and supply chain logistics

• Diploma or degree in Retail Management, Business, Marketing, or a related discipline is preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and familiarity with retail management software
