Description

Marketplace Platform Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the YSG Marketplace Platform, ensuring smooth functionality and superior customer experience.

  • Develop and execute a hybrid creative marketing and operational strategy to drive platform growth, expand the merchant ecosystem, increase GMV, and enhance user engagement with online and offline marketing initiatives.

  • Lead marketing communications across owned and partnered channels, reviewing content for quality and brand consistency, to create a clear brand strategy and value statement.

  • Monitor performance targets and other KPIs (GMV, revenue, margins) and support efforts to optimize cost structures and improve operational efficiencies.

  • Analyse marketplace performance, market trends, and user data to identify improvement opportunities and growth areas.

  • Build, onboard, and maintain strong relationships with merchants and partners, ensuring active participation in campaigns and platform initiatives.

  • Manage and optimize internal workflows across Creative Design, Marketing Communications, Product Development, and Customer Success teams while ensuring seamless cross-functional collaboration with operations, finance and tech teams to support effective marketplace execution.

  • Lead, mentor and develop high-performing multicultural and remote teams, fostering a strong, inclusive team culture and empowering functional leaders to execute regional priorities.

  • Identify and recommend new marketplace tools, technologies, and processes to enhance marketplace operations and support business scalability. 

  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps for the various system products and apps within the YSG domain.

  • Act as the Data Protection Officer, ensuring PDPA compliance and managing data protection policies and practices.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, industry standards, and internal policies, including Terms of Use and Seller Terms.

  • Serve as primary liaison with Legal Counsel for reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.

  • Oversee and drive events planning across the division. Events can include private sales, corporate team events, and charity events. 

  • Identify and manage government grant opportunities, preparing submissions and ensuring compliance with grant terms.


Business Unit & Strategic Support

  • Support Head of Business Development in charting growth strategies for the Digital Commerce BU.

  • Contribute to regional strategies, intercompany synergies, expansion into adjacent industries, and high-growth market opportunities.

  • Drive revenue growth, cost efficiency, and operational excellence in line with BU objectives.

  • Represent the company in leadership forums and contribute to enterprise-wide strategic planning.

  • Cultivate a high-performance, collaborative, and values-driven workplace culture.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline.

  • 5+ years in marketplace management, e-commerce or digital platform leadership with senior leadership experience in e-commerce marketplaces, live-streaming or dot.com operations, logistics and supply chain.

  • Proven ability to work regionally on APAC-level businesses.

  • Strong business acumen with a proven track record of driving marketplace growth, merchant management, GMV achievement, revenue generation and margin optimisation. Ability to link business development activities to business.

  • Basic understanding of account management and financial analysis.

  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills with experience managing, developing and motivating high-performing multicultural and remote teams while handling multiple projects in a dynamic environment. Experience in membership management, pop-ups, and community outreach is advantageous. 

  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities to interpret data, anticipate trends and make informed decisions. 

  • Deep understanding of customer behavior, digital marketing strategies, marketplace dynamics, campaign management (Shopee, Lazada, TikTok) and relevant marketplace laws and regulations.

  • Skilled in communication, negotiation and managing internal and external stakeholders across functions and levels. Experience with government bodies such as Enterprise Singapore will be advantageous.

  • Experience with emerging marketplace technologies, platform operations, performance optimization and leading change management initiatives. Product management experience will be advantageous.
