We are looking for a Marketing Strategist to join our in-house advertising team. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, creative, copywriting, and performance marketing. You will be responsible for developing advertising hooks, writing copy, conducting market research, and shaping how ideas are translated into effective ad creatives.
You will work closely with leadership, graphic designers, motion graphics designers, and media buyers to pitch ideas, guide creative execution, and improve campaign performance through insight-driven testing and iteration.
This is a hands-on role where research, copy, and creative decisions directly impact advertising outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research and Competitive Insights
Conduct ongoing market and competitor research to identify trends, messaging gaps, and creative opportunities.
Analyse competitor ads, offers, and positioning to inform new hooks and creative directions.
Research audience pain points, objections, motivations, and buying triggers relevant to advertising performance.
Translate research findings into actionable recommendations for ad creative and copy.
Advertising Strategy and Hook Development
Work with leadership to develop and refine advertising hooks, angles, and campaign narratives.
Translate business objectives, offers, and market dynamics into clear messaging strategies.
Provide strategic context to the creative team to guide ideation and execution.
Copywriting and Message Framing
Write clear, persuasive copy for paid advertising, including primary text, headlines, descriptions, and short-form variations.
Frame messages to optimise clarity, attention, and performance in feed-based advertising environments.
Adapt copy across different hooks, formats, and audience contexts while maintaining consistency.
Collaborate with designers and motion graphics team to ensure copy and visuals work together effectively.
Creative Ideation and Collaboration
Participate actively in creative ideation sessions and pitch messaging and creative ideas.
Work with designers and motion graphics team to explore different ways to present hooks through copy and visuals.
Contribute to first-frame messaging, sequencing, and emphasis decisions.
Creative Testing and Experimentation
Plan and structure creative testing frameworks, including hypotheses, variations, and success criteria.
Define what variables to test such as hooks, copy framing, offers, pacing, or formats.
Prioritise tests based on potential impact and learning value.
Performance Analysis and Insights
Analyse campaign performance data to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for improvement.
Translate results into clear recommendations for creative and copy iteration.
Maintain feedback loops with the creative and media teams based on what is working and why.
Campaign and Messaging Consistency
Ensure consistency of messaging and positioning across campaigns, platforms, and touchpoints.
Support alignment between paid ads, landing pages, and the broader customer journey.
Maintain clarity and discipline in how messaging evolves over time.
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing strategy, performance marketing, or advertising.
Proven experience in advertising copywriting and messaging development.
Experience conducting market or competitor research for marketing or advertising purposes.
Strong understanding of paid media environments, especially Meta platforms.
Ability to think in hypotheses, testing frameworks, and measurable outcomes.
Strong written and analytical communication skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative advertising environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in performance or direct response advertising.
Familiarity with creative testing and A/B testing methodologies.
Experience in automotive, consumer retail, or high-consideration purchase categories.
Exposure to working closely with creative, motion, and media buying teams.
