Role Overview
This role supports The Post Trade PC team is executing a critical upgrade of the an Java application, including a major Spring Boot upgrade, Hibernate migration, and development of a new Dashboard. Experienced Java Backend Engineers are required to support post-upgrade validation, regression testing, troubleshooting, code remediation, and backend API development ensuring successful delivery of project milestones.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform end‑to‑end development and testing activities, requiring strong Java expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices, and Hibernate, along with willingness to execute manual and regression testing and implement timely defect fixes.
• Execute approximately 2,200 manual regression test cases using Zephyr to validate system stability and functionality.
• Accurately document, track, and update all test outcomes in Zephyr and Jira.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to the Spring Boot and Hibernate upgrades.
• Conduct comprehensive root‑cause analysis and implement necessary code fixes, enhancements, or optimizations.
• Design and develop backend REST APIs for the Dashboard using Java, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional development and QA teams throughout the upgrade and testing cycles.
• Ensure proper maintenance and archiving of all code changes, testing artifacts, and technical documentation.
• Support go‑live readiness activities, post‑deployment stabilization, and follow‑up issue resolution.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Microservices, and Hibernate.
Experience in backend system upgrades, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
Hands‑on experience performing manual regression testing and validating large‑scale test suites.
Familiarity with testing and project management tools such as Zephyr and Jira.
Ability to operate effectively in a hybrid working environment and collaborate across distributed teams.
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins).
Understanding of automation testing frameworks such as Selenium or JUnit.
Nice-to-Have
Experience working on dashboard or analytics platform development.
Background in financial markets or post‑trade systems.
Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization for Java applications.
Experience in migration projects or time‑bound service engagements.
Understanding of banking technology environments and compliance standards.
1–4 years of relevant experience in IT support.
Strong communication and technical writing skills.
Proactive, self‑driven, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
Well‑organized and disciplined in following documented processes and procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of hands‑on Java backend development experience.
Strong understanding of software development best practices and testing methodologies.
Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
