Role Overview


We are seeking a motivated Business Development Executive / Manager with 2-4 years of experience in the payments (digital/online/offline) services industry to support merchant acquisition and business growth. This role focuses on identifying new merchant opportunities, supporting partnership development, client lifecycle, and expanding payment acceptance solutions across multiple channels.


Key Responsibilities



  • Support end-to-end merchant acquisition activities through lead generation, prospecting potential clients, delivering persuasive pitches, negotiating terms, and managing onboarding processes to expand the merchant base.

  • Build and sustain strong professional relationships with merchants, Payment Service Providers (PSPs), banks, aggregators, and payment partners to enhance collaboration and business growth.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities across diverse payment channels, including POS, QR payments, online/offline payments, e-commerce, and alternative payment methods to drive revenue growth.

  • Consistently achieve and surpass targets related to revenue, transaction volume, and merchant acquisition to contribute to company objectives.

  • Prepare detailed sales proposals, develop pricing models, and support the negotiation of commercial agreements to secure profitable deals.

  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Product to ensure seamless merchant onboarding and provide ongoing lifecycle support.

  • Monitor and report sales activities, pipeline progression, and performance metrics to inform strategic decision-making.

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analyse competitor offerings and pricing strategies to strengthen YeahPay's market positioning.

  • Support strategic initiatives including the introduction of new payment channels, cross-border acquiring, and value-added services.


Requirements




  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in the payments, fintech, banking, or B2B sales.

  • Basic understanding of acquiring models and fee structures, including Merchant Discount Rate (MDR), interchange, and scheme fees.

  • Knowledge of POS, QR, e-commerce, and omnichannel payment solutions.

  • Familiarity with card schemes and alternative payment methods.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills demonstrated by engaging merchants and partners professionally

  • Self-motivated, target-oriented with the ability to learn rapidly in a dynamic start-up environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and progressively take independent ownership of assigned accounts.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Prior experience supporting SME or mid‑market merchants.

  • Familiarity with online/offline payment systems and sales reporting tools.
